Plain English, family first. These are the terms we’d want to read ourselves.

The agreement

Foxtales (“we,” “us”) is the keepsake storytelling service at foxtalesclub.com, operated from the United States. By using foxtalesclub.com and its subdomains, holding an account, or ordering our cards, you agree to these terms and to our privacy policy, which explains how we handle your family’s information. If you have questions before agreeing to anything, write to [email protected] — a person reads that inbox.

The service

Foxtales helps family storytellers record themselves reading aloud, then presses those recordings onto tap-to-play keepsake cards and keeps them playable in your family’s archive. That includes the guided recording session, invitations and reminders sent on your behalf, the organizer’s status page, and playback for anyone holding a card or its link. We’re a young service and features will evolve, but the promise at the center — your recordings, kept safe and playable — is the part we treat as permanent.

Your account

Accounts are for adults: you must be 18 or older to create one. Give us accurate details, keep your sign-in to yourself, and tell us promptly if you think someone else has used your account. You’re responsible for what happens under it.

Your recordings

The recordings your family makes are yours — we claim no ownership. You give us only the limited permission we need to operate: to host, process, back up, press, and play your recordings and the names, titles, and dedications that accompany them, for you and the circle you choose. We never sell your recordings, never use them for advertising, and never use them to train artificial-intelligence models.

In return, we ask three things of you:

• Record with permission. Only record people who’ve agreed to be recorded, and only include a child with their parent’s or guardian’s blessing.
• Respect authors. Reading a beloved book aloud to your own family is storytime; Foxtales recordings are for private, family listening — not for public rebroadcast, resale, or commercial use. The books you read remain their authors’ and publishers’ property.
• Keep it kind. Don’t use Foxtales for anything unlawful, harmful, or hateful, and don’t probe, overload, or try to break the service. We may remove content or suspend accounts that cross these lines.

Orders, shipping, and our guarantee

Prices are shown before you pay, and payments are handled by Stripe. You approve every recording before we press it, and you can cancel for a full refund any time before pressing. Then our guarantee is simple: if you’re not delighted, write to us within 30 days of delivery and we’ll refund your order in full. Beyond that window, a card that’s damaged or lost can always be replaced — same title, same name, same voice — because the recording lives safely in your archive. Shipping dates we quote are honest estimates, not promises; carriers have moods.

What’s ours

The Foxtales name, crest, card designs, site, and software are ours; please don’t copy or imitate them. Everything in your recordings, as above, stays yours.

Ending things, and the keepsake promise

You may close your account at any time — your recordings and details are then handled as the privacy policy describes. We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms, with notice where reasonable. And because keepsakes should outlast software: if Foxtales ever winds down, we’ll give you at least 90 days’ notice and a way to download your family’s recordings before anything goes dark.

The fine print

Foxtales is provided “as is.” We work to keep everything running and every card playing, but we can’t promise the service will be uninterrupted or error-free, and tap-to-play behavior varies by phone. To the extent the law allows, our total liability to you is limited to the amount you’ve paid us in the twelve months before a claim, and neither of us is liable to the other for indirect or consequential damages. Nothing in these terms takes away rights that consumer law doesn’t let us limit.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, and any dispute we can’t resolve together belongs in the state or federal courts of California. But truly — write to us first. Nearly everything can be fixed over email.

Changes

If these terms change, we’ll post the new version here with a new effective date, and email account holders about meaningful changes before they take effect. Using Foxtales after that means you accept the updated terms.
